Animal Health Certificates 

and Export Health Certificates

Thanks for booking your Animal Health Certificate (AHC) or Export Health Certificate (EHC) consultation with James Horner Vets. We outline some key information for the AHC and the form you will need to complete ahead of your consultation with us.

Key Information about Animal Health Certificates (AHC):

  • An Animal Health Certificate (AHC) is the document required for pets to travel as companions, non-commercial exports, to the EU and other destinations

  • James, Hollie and Marketa are the Official Veterinarians who are able to issue animal health certificates

  • An AHC can only be completed within 10 days of travel to the EU

  • Each AHC can validate movements of up to five Pet Dogs, Cats, or Ferrets

  • Once issued, following entry into the EU, the pet is allowed to return on the same AHC within 4 months of issuance

  • The original document is to travel with the pet(s), a certified copy is to be kept with the practice

  • AHC work is to be booked in with James, Hollie or Marketa as the OV’s in the practice

  • The consultation can take up to an hour

  • Bring the pets you would like to have Animal Health Certificates for

  • Bring Vaccination Certificates or Practice email history

  • Bring the Original Certificate of Rabies Vaccination

  • Bring Owner’s Passport

  • Complete the form below
