+ How can it help?
Training your dog should never stop. Not only is it a fun way to engage with your pet, but also a good way to continually reinforce the good behaviour and habits developed when young.
The best way considered to train a dog is through positive reinforcement. This means rewarding your dog for the correct behaviour, rather than punishing for wrong behaviour. It is not an easy technique to master and very much a learnt skill for the trainer as well as your dog, so be kind on yourself and keep working at it.
Action, reward, repetition, reward, repetition reward is central to the premise of positive reinforcement. The most important element is that your dog associates the reward with the action desired.
Training is a very personal experience and needs bespoke advice and support. Come in and talk to the team about training techniques and we will be more than happy to help advise you where needed.
+ Do you offer training classes?
We are not professional trainers and would recommend seeking out dog training services local to you. We can offer basic training advice at any single visit but demonstraing techniques will be left to the dog trainers themselves.
