July Clinic Update: New Vet, A Great 1st Birthday, Saying goodbye to Gurdeep, Holidays
Our New Starter Hollie!
Welcome Hollie! Hollie is joining us on the 1st August to expand our vet team to 3!!
Hollie is experienced having qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2018 from the University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine and Science. Since qualifying, Hollie has worked in small animal practice.
Hollie particularly enjoys meeting clients and their pets being friendly, approachable and patient.
Hollie finds her job as a vet very rewarding and has a particular interest in Veterinary Dentistry. Her veterinary skills have taken her far and wide, including volunteering at a charity in Thailand neutering stray dogs to help with the overpopulation of stray animals.
Originally from Northamptonshire, Hollie is new to the West Midlands having recently moved to the area. Hollie sought out James Horner Vets because she liked the friendly atmosphere and wanted to work for an independent veterinary practice.
In her free time Hollie enjoys horse riding, spending time with family and friends, and the occasional shopping trip!
It’s our 1st Birthday - What a Success!
The 21st June marked 1 year from our first opening of the doors! We are thrilled to have been able to welcome so many of you to see behind the scenes of the practice. We are putting together a little photo montage so watch this space!
The day was organised by Katrina and Sophie who both did a great work ahead of time to make it run as smoothly as we could make it, whilst the whole team gave so much energy to talk about all the different areas within the practice.
We have taken LOADS of pictures so will be creating a picture roll for our Social Media profiles - watch this space!
Farewell Gurdeep
Sadly we are having to bid another farewell. Gurdeep is moving on to pastures new. She has been a great asset to our Vet Receptionist and Client Account team helping many people join subscriptions, co-ordinate appointments and ensure the best care is given by our practice.
Gurdeep will be missed by all of us, and no doubt many of our clients, but we wish her all the best in the next step in her career.
Heat Stroke in Dogs
With the increasingly hot weather did you get a chance to read our advice on heat stroke in dogs from last month? Read the key points below:
Dogs are seen more commonly for heat stroke than cats, but both can be affected
Heat Stoke occurs when the bodies ability to cool is overwhelmed by heat
Heat Stroke is very dangerous and can lead to death
Never leave a dog in a car on a warm day
Seek out ways to cool your pet if they appear too hot
Summer Holidays continued….!
As the summer extends, so too do our team’s well deserved rest.
