September 2024 Clinic Update
We would like to Welcome our New Starter!
Alleah Khan joined our clinical team working alongside Freya as a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) on 5th August!
When asked why she applied to join James Horner Vets, Alleah said it was mainly because we were an independent practice rather than a corporate, she had seen numerous good reviews about us and we seemed like a welcoming team to work with!
Expanding our knowledge….
On 15th August we held another of our quarterly team training days. On this particular day as well as the usual business update from James, head nurse Sophie D gave a presentation on ‘Arthritis in cats and dogs’ including recognising signs and treatment options and nurse James (JB) gave a refresher course in ‘Crash Training’. In the afternoon we were joined by Zoetis who discussed parasite treatment with us and then James’ better half Anneli who spoke about ‘DISC’ profiling.
September is another busy month for birthdays!
This month not only is it James’s birthday on 23rd September but his beautiful little girl Arabella will also be turning 2 on the very same day! Of course this means James’ birthday kind of gets overlooked but Arabella deserves the special attention a lot more!!
Louise is also celebrating her birthday on 9th September and has treated herself to a day off work.
We wish them all the very best on their special days!

As a new feature to our monthly newsletter we will be ‘spending 5 minutes’ with a different member of the practice team each month.
Last month we sat down with Samantha T and next month we will continue with VCA Sam so if you have a question you’d like to ask or just something about Samantha that you’d like to know (perhaps if she has any hobbies or what made her want to join the veterinary industry) please send us an email to reception@hornervets.com or send a message/comment via our Facebook page by Thursday 19th September.
