Veterinary Surgeon

The Veterinary Surgeon position is the primary service provider for the business.  

About the Role

The role focuses on providing Veterinary Services, consultations and advice along with promoting and servicing the Wellness Subscriptions offered by James Horner Vets. 

Training and supporting our RVN schedule 3 development is important as well as developing, following and improving current practice policies and procedures.

Remuneration

  • Basic Pay: Dependent on Experience

  • Bonus: 3% of Sales revenue generated, paid monthly in arrears

  • Profit Share: After qualifying from probation (3 months) all team members are entitled to a profit share bonus at the end of the financial year

Job Specification

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Veterinary Consultations

  • Surgical procedures within your capabilities

  • Ensuring excellent client communication

  • Responsible for all patient care

  • Billing and invoicing clients following services

  • Providing accurate estimates prior to procedures

  • - Following and advocating James Horner Vets protocols and processes

    - Supervising as appropriate Schedule 3 procedures being carried out by RVN*

    - Promoting “Wellness Subscriptions” Healthcare plans

    - Committing to targets and goals set by James Horner Vets management

    - Advancing personal skills to the benefit of themselves and the business

    - Monitoring complications and other client concerns

    - Responding to client concerns, objections, or complaints

    - Radiographic imaging

    - Supporting Client Account Manager team in their daily duties

    - Supporting the whole team in their daily duties

    - Attending team meetings

    - Contributing to practice management meetings both content and agenda items

    - Generation of ideas to offer the best care

    - Market and competitor research where required

Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

The Registered Veterinary Nurse position forms a core part of the service provision for the practice. The nurses provide support and delivery of the Wellness Subscriptions along with growing our schedule 3 provisions, consulting and traditional nursing duties working alongside our Veterinary Surgeons. 

RVN consulting on husbandry, weight management and general advice for loyal clients is important in ensuring the best care for all pets under our care.

Remuneration

Basic Pay: Dependent on Experience and additional duties

Profit Share: After qualifying from probation (3 months) all team members are entitled to a profit share bonus at the end of the financial year

Job Specification

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Promoting Wellness Subscriptions

  • Scheduling procedures

  • Client consultations*

  • Annual health plans

  • Day inpatient admissions*

  • Inpatient discharges*

  • Inpatient nursing

  • Surgical preparation

  • - Answering the phone

    - Booking appointments

    - Registering new clients

    - Anaesthetic monitoring

    - Radiographic imaging

    - Schedule 3 procedures when under appropriate veterinary supervision*

    - Ensuring surgical equipment is cleaned and sterilised appropriately

    - Ensuring optimum cleanliness of clinical areas

    - Ensuring optimum cleanliness of kennelling facilities

    - Managing consumable stock control

    - Supporting Client Account Manager team in their daily duties

    - Supporting the MRCVS team in their daily duties

    - Attending team meetings

    - Contributing to practice management meetings both content and agenda items

    - Generation of ideas to offer the best care

    - Market and competitor research where required

    - Support of the business owner and associates in data collection where required

    - Maintain relevant and up to date with CPD

    *Where appropriate and the RVN is sufficiently capable. If there is a skills gap then the RVN will work with the business to up-skill until they are confident to carry out the necessary duty.

Veterinary Care Assistant

About the Role

The VCA position is a valued member of the clinical support team. The role works closely with the RVNs focusing on ensuring effective delivery of the Wellness Subscriptions and general veterinary services. Support in all areas the clinic will be important in ensuring the best care for all pets under our care. Alongside the traditional veterinary care activities additional responsibilities will be given depending on clinic needs, such as stock management.

Remuneration

Basic Pay: Dependent on Experience and additional duties

Profit Share: After qualifying from probation (3 months) all team members are entitled to a profit share bonus at the end of the financial year

Job Specification

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Answering the phone

  • Booking appointments

  • Registering new clients

  • Promoting Wellness Subscriptions

  • Scheduling procedures

  • Day inpatient admissions*

  • Inpatient discharges*

  • Provide the highest care to inpatients

  • Restraining patients when required

  • Surgical preparation

*Where appropriate and the VCA is sufficiently capable.  If there is a skills gap then the VCA will work with the business to upskill until they are confident to carry out the necessary duty.

  • - Anaesthetic monitoring*

    - Supporting with radiographic imaging

    - Collecting and processing samples as directed by an RVN or Veterinary Surgeon

    - Ensuring surgical equipment is cleaned and sterilised appropriately

    - Ensuring optimum cleanliness of all practice areas including the staff room and toilet

    - Ensuring optimum cleanliness of kennelling and cattery facilities

    - Managing consumable stock control

    - Supporting the Client Account Manager team in their daily duties

    - Supporting the MRCVS team in their daily duties

    - Attending team meetings

    - Contributing to practice management meetings both content and agenda items

    - Generation of ideas to offer the best care

    - Market and competitor research where required

    - Support of the business owner and associates in data collection where required

Veterinary Receptionist with Client Account Management

About the Role

The Veterinary Receptionist and Client Account Management position embodies the values of the practice and involves managing many elements of the client journey from initial contact through to taking payment.

The VRCAM team manages and coordinates the relationship the client has with the practice. The team actively promote and maintain the uptake of the Wellness Subscriptions we deliver as part of our service.

Personal development within the company is encouraged with a clear development pathway being established to help guide growth, pay rises and self-improvement.

Remuneration

  • Basic Pay – Dependent on Experience and additional duties

  • Profit Share – After qualifying from probation (3 months) all team members are entitled to a profit share bonus at the end of the financial year

 

Job Specification

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Answering the phone

  • Booking appointments

  • Registering new clients

  • Promoting Wellness Subscriptions

  • Greeting all clients on entry

  • Counter signing medication

  • Dispensing mediation once payment has been made

  • Taking payment

  • - Managing Stripe payments

    - Uploading direct debits to Easy Direct Debit system and managing existing direct debits

    - Reviewing client accounts to ensure all pets are receiving the maximum care we can offer and driving footfall

    - Guiding clients to the appropriate service (RVN or MRCVS) depending on their apparent needs

    - Responding to, and keeping on top of, emails, Whatsapp and website enquiries
