Wellness Subscriptions FAQs

+ What is an Annual Health Plan, and how to I book one?

The Annual Health Plan is a feature of both the Gold and Silver subscriptions. It is vital to helping us plan your health needs over the coming year, and what we can do to help improve, prevent or treat any conditions or concerns you may have regarding to your pet
and their health. To book your AHP, call our practice and we will find a day that suits you to arrange the meeting.

+ When will discounts be applied?

As soon as you have signed up and paid the first month upfront, discounts will apply. Should you choose to stop paying your subscription, discounts will stop from that month.

+ Can I cancel my subscription?

You may cancel your pet’s subscription at any time by giving us written notice. Once cancelled, if you have not completed your full 12 months, and have benefited from discounts during your subscription period, you will be required to pay the benefits in full, or settle the outstanding balance on your wellness subscription plan.

+ Can I take out 1 subscription for two pets?

Each subscription is for 1 pet only. If you have two pets, they will both benefit from being on a plan to really get the most out of our team.

+ Do I need to renew my subscription every year?

Your subscription will renew automatically each year, carrying on the benefits you have seamlessly. If you wish to cancel the automatic renewal then please give us 21 days written notice.

+ Will the price go up each year?

We will always do our best to keep the price the same, but in line with inflation, we may choose to increase the subscription fee. If we do elect to raise the fee, we will give you 2 months written notice to let you know about the upcoming change.

+ How are the Wellness Subscriptions different?

Each Wellness Subscription is unique. Many plans offer generic solutions without being bespoke to your pet’s health provisions over the year. In contrast to a generic plan, with a James Horner Vets' subscription, we plan the year for your pet with you, in person. We consider everything you suggest and include it into our plan design. Examples of how the time can be used includes when, why, and how often you will need to visit us, a risk assessment and guidance on how frequently you wish to treat for parasites, or what diet you wish to feed your pet to help with weight-loss goals.

+ Which plan is the best?

No plan is “the best”, but one subscription may be more appropriate than another; this depends upon you and your pet.

For example, for healthy pets that may need only to use the vet occasionally through the year, our Bronze and Silver Packages are likely to be most appropriate. For any health concern, you will be able to see the nurse quickly for an educated opinion, and, should a vet referral be recommended, this will happen seamlessly and with a discount off the consultation fee.
Alternatively, if you have a pet that requires ongoing medication monitoring or regular assessments, such as skin issues, or long term arthritis, our Gold Package will be the best fit. If you would like to discuss your choice then please call us and the team will be happy to help.

+ Is the Wellness Subscription an insurance policy?

No, the wellness subscriptions are not an insurance policy. Insurance is in place to cover for the unexpected health issues, whilst the subscriptions are intended to provide a necessary complementary advice service. Our recommendation is always to have both a subscription and insurance so all areas of pet health can be addressed with complete confidence.

+ Which subscription is right for me?

Because every pet is different, the choice of your subscription may not be the same for each pet, even if you have many pets. The best option is to talk to one of our team, otherwise read the specific details to decide what works for you. We can always upgrade a subscription if you need to.

+ Can I still see the vet if I am not on a plan?

Yes. We are always happy to see you and your pet whether you have a subscription with us or not. Book in as normal and we will always treat and advise as if your pet was our own. Despite this, we do always recommend you subscribe to a plan so you can make the most of our services to you.

+ Are my flea and worming products covered like other vet plans?

Unlike other health plans, we include a huge discount on parasite protection rather than provide them free of charge.
