April 2024 Clinic Update

Support student nurse Sarah with her upcoming charity events!

You may or may not be aware already but Student nurse Sarah has set up a charity in memory of her son Bradley who passed from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy on 2nd April 2022.

To raise much needed funds for the charity Sarah has set up a few local events including:

- Afternoon tea on Sunday 21st April
- Horse Racing Night
on Saturday 11th May
- Charity ball (to celebrate what would have been Bradley’s 21st) on Saturday 20th July.

For more information on any of these events, to buy tickets or to find out more about the charity please visit https://www.bradleyspromise.co.uk/events

Team training day

On Thursday 25th April we will be holding our next team training day which we use as an opportunity to share ideas/updates and where individual team members present to the rest of the team. Appointments will still be available as normal in the morning and afternoon but on a slightly limited capacity.

Spending 5 Minutes with Freya!

Following on from Sophie D last month, we sat down with Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) Freya to ask them some questions! You can read their Q&A here…

IMPORTANT - Reminder about Appointments

As a clinic we are becoming busier and whilst we appreciate that plans and circumstances can change, so if you are unable to attend a booked appointment please ensure you let us know as soon as possible to allow other clients the opportunity to book their pets in.

We have seen an increased level of clients failing to show for appointments without notifying us which has an impact on both our working day and other poorly pets that need our attention.

Do you have a question you would like to ask our vet Hollie?

As a new feature to our monthly newsletter we will be ‘spending 5 minutes’ with a different member of the practice team each month.

Last month we sat down with Freya and next month we will continue with vet Hollie so if you have a question you’d like to ask or just something about Hollie that you’d like to know (perhaps if she has any hobbies or what made her want to join the veterinary industry) please send us an email to reception@hornervets.com or send a message via our Facebook page by Friday 19th April.

As a disclaimer this feature is meant to be light-hearted; informal chat so you can get to know the team a little better and is not to be used for answering medical queries and/or giving any medical advice.
